Recovery

The Hyperbaric Chamber

A 120 minute session, scheduled around your training and your programme, not booked on a whim. Oxygen delivered under pressure, in a controlled environment, supervised by the recovery team.

What it is

The chamber delivers oxygen at a pressure above normal atmospheric level, which increases the amount the body can carry in the blood for the duration of the session. Each session runs 120 minutes, in a monitored room, with a member of the team present throughout.

It sits in the recovery wing alongside the Spa and the Longevity Clinic, and is scheduled as part of your plan rather than added at the last minute.

What members use it for

  • Recovery. Used between hard training blocks, to support the body's own repair process during the hours that follow exertion.
  • Inflammation. Sessions are scheduled after the kind of load that leaves joints and tissue inflamed, as part of a broader recovery plan rather than on their own.
  • Sleep. Members report steadier sleep on the nights following a session. We track this against your other data rather than take it on faith.
  • Mental clarity. A quiet, enclosed 120 minutes, used by members who train the mind as deliberately as the body.
  • Sport preparation and recovery. Built into the week before a competition and the days after one, alongside the rest of the performance programme.
  • Supporting healthy aging. One part of a longer term plan, never a substitute for training, sleep or nutrition.

These are the uses our members report and the reasons the protocol is scheduled. The chamber is not a medical treatment, it does not diagnose or cure any condition, and it carries no guaranteed clinical outcome. Members with a medical condition should consult their physician before a first session.

A session, step by step

You arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled time, in comfortable clothing without synthetic fabrics, perfumes or lotions applied that day. A member of the team walks you through the chamber, the pressurization and depressurization process, and what to expect before you go in.

The session itself runs 120 minutes. Most members read, rest or sleep. Ears can feel pressure as the chamber adjusts, the same sensation as a change in altitude, and the team talks you through clearing them. You remain supervised for the full session.

Afterward, plan for a short rest before resuming activity. Water is provided. We recommend avoiding a hard training session immediately after your first few sessions until you know how your body responds.

Who should not use the chamber

Hyperbaric sessions are not suitable for everyone. The usual contraindications for this kind of protocol apply, including but not limited to untreated pneumothorax, certain chronic obstructive pulmonary conditions, recent ear or sinus surgery, uncontrolled high fever, pregnancy, certain cardiac conditions, and claustrophobia severe enough to make a confined session unsafe. Some medications and recent surgeries also require caution.

This list is not exhaustive. If you are uncertain whether the chamber is appropriate for you, speak with your physician before booking, and tell our team about any relevant condition when you enquire.
